3.    Control Panel
4.    Regional Settings globe10.gif (21878 bytes)
5.    Date
6.    Short date Style
7.    Set to:  m/d/yyyy
8.    [If  changed]  Apply
9.   O.K.
 

If you have another older PC with any operating system that is not Y2K compliant, Set the year in 1999 to 1971 so when January 1st 2000 comes in it will match with the year 1972. (Same Dates)
